OK, let me see... Synaptics touchpad (not really connected to this) works after installation, in older comment I made a mistake. Function keys work, but that depends from laptop to laptop ;) Fn combinations listed few lines up work, and Fn+F4 makes my laptop show screen on external TV (needs to

I see what you mean. Yet, just because some broken functionality is easy to fix it doesn't mean that it shouldn't be reported. Do you believe that some bugs in [U(Ku)(Edu)(Xu)]buntu should be left unreported? Do you believe that instead of being bug-free [U(Ku)(Edu)(Xu)]buntu should be instead some

It just varies, on my laptop *every* key works, and even a key for web browser and key for mail client. If funciton keys don't work on your laptop, you should edit few configuration files, that's all. -- total support for laptop function keys https://launchpad.net/bugs/19005 -- ubuntu-bugs maili

Hello! I have Fujitsu Siemens Computers Amilo L6825 notebook and every function key works, including light up/down, sound keys, sleep keys and other. Only synaptic touchpad doesn't work, but it doesn't matter. The point is that it works, you just need to enable some options in X configuration.
