I have the exact same Problem. Connecting my external Monitor via VGA
works just fine. When I connect it via HDMI and set the resolution to
1680x1050 there is a big black bar on the left.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 (with Intel GM965) attached to an Samsung
Syncmaster T220HD. I attached all sorts
