Found the solution, downloaded the latest version of Ubuntu Studio with 8.04
included. No need to upgrade. :)

To solve the problem and upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04, i have remove the
audacious packet.

Just doing some triage. Does this problem still occur and if so can

Unfortunately I can't provide the log files as I fixed the problem
before I found this bug entry. :)
It seems the dependency cycle stops update-manager from upgrading. After
I uninstalled audacious-plugins-extra via Synaptic the upgrade from
(xubuntu) 7.10 to 8.04 (beta) progressed. I would guess
