Thanks, I'm done with the machine.
I left it in a state where it can install snaps but it will likely break
on re-exec. I'll send a fix to snapd now.

Probably this is the lxd snap exiting it's confinement and seeing the
hosts different/incompatible libc and causing the host's libs to be seen
by snap-confine

One task actually is in error (it just results in undoing of the entire
change) - lxd install hook.
And this is the culprit:
