Thanks a lot, Martin.
That means you were probably affected by LP: #1852581, which affected
the hwe-edge version of the 5.3 kernel and was fixed during an update.
That explains how you got an update for tha
Dear Sir / Madam,
Many thanks for the prompt reply. The output of the command: dpkg -s
linux-image-5.3.0-23-generic | grep Version, in my terminal emulator is:
Version: 5.3.0-23.25~18.04.2
Kind regards,

So I suspect you are using a hwe-edge version of the kernel that had
another problem related to module signing.
What is the output of the following command?
dpkg -s linux-image-5.3.0-23-generic | grep Version
Thanks.
Cascardo.

Dear Sir / Madam,
In my update history, the update was written as:
package: libnss3
version: 2:3.35-2ubuntu2.5
Though, when I was updating it, I can definitely remember this was shown as
a kernel update of 5.3.0-23. After installing it, I was able to boot into
kernel 5.3.0-23.
Does this help?

Kernels 5.022 or higher booting
Dear Sir / Madam,
Apologies for the inconvenience. I was unable to boot into kernel 5.3.0-23
till yesterday, when I received an update concerning this kernel.
Currently, I can boot into this kernel. Hence, the only minor problem I
have is rare flickering of the display, which I had ever since I wa
So, can you boot from 5.3.0-23? I thought the initial report mentioned
you could not boot from 5.3.0-23.
And are you using secure boot? That would prevent testing the kernel I
gave you as it cannot be properly signed being a test kernel. If that is
the case, can you disable secure boot and test?
Dear Sir / Madam,
I downloaded and installed the files, but I could not boot from the this
kernel (5.024). it gave me an error that I need to load the kernel first,
not sure what that means. I booted again from 5.023.
Kind regards,
Martin

Hi, Martin.
Can you download the .deb files from
https://people.canonical.com/~cascardo/tpmrevert1/ and install them
using sudo dpkg -i *deb? Then see if you can boot from that kernel?
Thanks.
Cascardo.
