Only want to say that my rt2870 works perfectly with the package created
from rt28xx-linux-sta. Thanks! Best would be to set up a PPA, to also
provide binary packages.

The RT2x00 serial monkey driver does not work on my rt2870 chipset.
AFAIK they work on the 25xx series devices and not on the 28xx series.

Here is a patch to the v1.3.1.0 driver from ralink to allow it to
compile under linux kernels > 2.6.26. I have only done minimal testing,
it is working well for me.

As far as i can tell the rt2x00 drivers do not support the rt2870
chipset. the backported modules don't appear to work, even when manually
loading the rt2x00usb module.
