Someone on #ubuntu suggested it might be due to the lack of a Contents-
amd64.gz in the eoan release, mentioned in
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2019-October/040832.html
If true, might that explain why it works for some searches and not for
other? Is the Contents file perhaps diff
I can also confirm that this happens for _some_ searches, while others
do produce results, although not entirely correct results. This looks to
be some regex fragility.
Review the following, for example, using apt-file 3.2.2 on Eoan:
$ dpkg -S $(which joe); apt-file search joe; echo $?
joe: /usr/
