files in any other format. Ark is the default archiver. Rar is a fairly
popular archive format. I understand that the maintainer is working for

This is a known upstream 4.0 ark limitation, unfortunately the ark
maintainer couldn't finish rar support before feature freeze. This
should be back in KDE 4.1
