Thanks Basilio. Rebooting seems to have solved the problem! I can't
remember the last time I had to do that on an Ubuntu box... :)
Do you think this was a dbus issue? I don't know how I'll reproduce this
now, so should we close this bug?

Does the problem remains after reboot the machine?, this seems more a dbus
related issue than Xgl, but who knows, may you try to reproduce this issue
under a new account.
