I have the same XPS 13 model and I can confirm this, happened to me when
I updated Ubuntu to 19.04 to 19.10 (went from 5.0 to 5.2 i think) and I
started to have worst visual glitches. My screen freezes (not my system
because if i have a secondary display works fine) with heavy and a
distorted imag
I did some additional tests:
- First by testing with the future kernel under development (5.4 RC0)
and I found the same problem (no improvement)
- I searched the web and found similar problems with other people like for

Precision: the problem cannot come from the laptop screen, indeed I have
absolutely no problem with linux kernels below 5.2.
Currently under Archlinux I am with the LTS (4.19) and no problem but as soon
as I switch to the last one, I have problems again.
Same with Ubuntu, no problem with the 5.
