Public bug reported: The hardy kernels toshiba_acpi module does not support the 'hotkeys_over_acpi' option anymore so my hotkeys do not work at all since. I purged acpi-support and reinstalled it and it is not an upgrade issue but simply the stock kernel not supporting it.
$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/toshiba_acpi.modprobe options toshiba_acpi hotkeys_over_acpi=1 Maybe the hotkeys will move away from the acpi method ? I tried to remove the argument and the module loads correctly but unfortunately no hotkey works. I have a toshiba satellite M30 with the following packages installed as today : ii acpi-support 0.105 a collection of useful events for acpi ii linux-image-ge 2.6.24.4.4 Generic Linux kernel image thanks :) ** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- hardy toshiba_acpi: Unknown parameter `hotkeys_over_acpi' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/183883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
