FYI -- found this after running into the same problem. This fixed it for me: journalctl -u snap.docker.dockerd.service I saw many of these: docker.dockerd[1475]: failed to start daemon: pid file found, ensure docker is not running or delete /var/snap/docker/471/run/docker.pid Stopped the docker
