Hi,
Unfortunately I've really lost interest in packaging (and looking after)
Monkeystudio in Ubuntu. This is down to a number of reasons: there are
other projects which I would like to dedicate time to, and I don't think
Monkeystudio is something that excites me as much as others. I've also
been s

Hi,
I just finished packaging succesfully monkey studio :)
It install great on hardy/intrepid
I have added in svn ( branches/dev ) the debian folder i used, and a bash
script debian.sh witch automatised the task of packaging !
The script can take up to 4 parameters like this : debian.sh version

PasNox,
The latest revision of monkeystudio (2026) seems to build alright (with
`make`) but when I do `/usr/bin/make
MONKEY_PREFIX=/tmp/buildd/monkeystudio-1.8.2+2026/debian/monkeystudio/usr/local/
install` it fails. I have attached a log of the entire build process.
Could you take a look over it

PasNox,
As soon as the toolchain for Intrepid Ibex (hardy+1) is released
(currently set for May 1st) I can upload the package. Monkeystudio
should build fine now, right?

After the discussion on ubuntu-motu I found adding:
QMAKE_LFLAGS -= -Wl,--no-undefined
LFLAGS -= -Wl,--no-undefined
in plugins/plugins.inc solves the FTBFS problem. You probably only need
one of these lines. I used both because qmake defines the first line but
the resulting Makefile uses LFLAGS a
Hi,
Does it mean that the fix we try works great ?!
If yes, it's a good news :D
See you later, thanks again.

Hi,
It's a build error i already seen on debian.
The Qt configuration seem to have this flag set : --no-undefined
And Monkey Studio need the undefined symbols.
You need to remove this flags from makefiles/pro.
I have tried using in ROOT/monkey.pro ( and maybe you will need patch
plugins.inc too
PasNox,
Unfortunately, it seems that the package fails to build with libqt4-dev
under hardy. I have attatched a log of the package builder. What do you
make of it?

I have attached the output from the commands. Any ideas?

Hi,
I think he version to package is 1.8.1.0, it s write as unstable but is really
stable.
I think i will change the status for this release to stable 1.8.2.0 when
install script will be ok on all platform.
For the dependancy, only Qt 4 >= 4.3.2 is require, nothing more.
For older version ( 1.5
PasNox,
You probably want to write the description for the package. It needs to
have both a short description (up to 60 characters) and a long
description.
Also, could you give me a list of dependencies for monkeystudio so I
don't miss any? (I'm using 1.5.3)
Thanks

Hey Simrun, I heighly appreciate that you want to join Ubuntu
development :)
There is plenty of documentation on the topics of packaging, just a small
selection:
Fairly complete guide on packaging: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide
The MOTU school which helpful for getting started:
https://
I've just registered with Launchpad and I'm pretty active on
irc.freenode.net #ubuntu as DRebellion.
I would like to get involved with the technical side of Ubuntu
development so I figured one of these mentored bugs would be the way to
go. I don't really have any previous experience packaging/bugf
