This is another weird solution.
It may be correct but there is absolutely no evidence or hints that this is the
way to solve it.
A feature in Nautilus as simple as starring a file or folder so that it can
show up in the Starred entry in the sidebar should be as easy as bookmarking a
location, or
go to settings > search. then look for a setting icon on bottom right of
the box and click it. Go to other and select those folders where you
want the Star to work

Problem is resolved in settings -> search -> 'gear' -> Other 'tab' ->
select all shortcut locations.
