The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

The sound card and front panel controller bay are Sound Blaster X-Fi
Platinum. Just found an addendum insert in the setup guide mentioning
user must upgrade Quick Time. Reads "... issue has been resolved in
Quick Time 7.0.3. Earlier QT versions are not affected." I'm assuming
it refers to Window
If one needs more information i.e. hardware particulars, I'd be happy to
follow your instructions and post hardware information here. Thank you
