Here is the output from the konsole. Unfortunately after the failsaife
login the screen keeps black. After the regular login there are again
one more set of desktop-icons. Sorry, I can't determine what's
important.

there was an update to kdebase-workspace 4:4.0.0-0ubuntu6~gutsy~ppa1. In
gutsy the problem is still there. I think the fix will take some time
from hardy to gutsy...

I can confirm this on kubuntu gutsy, I had not installed anything
related to kde4 until the kde4.0 "stable" release
I tried to remove them, clicking in the red cross
the next login there were again 2 icons for each file or folder that i have in
my /Desktop folder
The next time i will have 3 copie
even if you removed them?
