I'm not sure if I'm still allowed to comment on this old bug, but it happened to me today. Ubuntu 10.04, panel suddenly became invisible. Same behaviour, when I click the place where the buttons should be, the menu pops up. Docky is also invisible, but works when I click the correct location.

i dont know what trigger means but the bug was in fiesty and gutsy every time when i shutdown the computer phissicly.. and after that, when ubuntu loads it loads with invisible panel every time i did it i just log out and the panel was shown well but in hardy it seems that the panel invisible bec
