It looks like the minimal option just means you don't get openoffice.
If you want lubuntu-core and not lubuntu-desktop, you need to use the
alternate or mini/netboot installer.

Sorry for the rollup bug and I appreciate the feedback. I don't normally
file bugs like this, but I thought I would document what I encountered
during the rare and hard-to-repeat event of reinstalling my main laptop,
especially since it all related to ubiquity, in case it had value for
anyone.

To make a usable bug report you need to focus on one issue. Most of the
issues you mention already have bug reports. I could not reproduce the
issue with the minimal install ( open office is not installed when
checking that tick box ). I also had no problem viewing the whole error

Out of interest, when I originally filed this bug, Launchpad failed
claiming my browser had sent information which the server could not
understand. I omitted to attach syslog or partman this time, which may
have made the difference and prevented launchpad from breaking.
