Thanks for following up. This bug report is being closed due to the
original reporter's last comment[comment #4] regarding this being a non-
issue. For future reference you can manage the status of your own bugs
by clicking on the current status in the yellow line and then choosing a
new status in
This bug still effects me in Ubuntu 9.04. I can only install/start
ubuntu via acpi work arounds. This makes my sound un-usable.

when use acpi=off the installation succeded after a very long time and the
lang=it option doesn't take effect.
