The menu is automatically shown in all critical scenarios:
- The default kernel fails to boot
- The boot success cannot be recorded because grub has no write support for
/boot
If you need to temporarily boot another kernel for other cases, you can
change the time out manually and run update-gru

Thanks , Yes still true on 24.04 , we sometimes need to tell the clients
to reach grub menu to switch Kernel but :
- Using ESC key lead them to grub > prompt easily
- Holding the right shift Key does not work anymore for at leats 6 years
Until Grub menu becomes easy to reach , we need to reenabl
