This should be fixed in amule 2.2.2-1ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 8.10). For Ubuntu
8.04 see bug #244670.

I have the same bug on hardy beta on amd64. amule crashes a lot after
connection. and this is the terminal output :
A fatal error has occurred and aMule has crashed.
Please assist us in fixing this problem by posting
Can you tell us what are the steps to make it crash?
Can you run amule from a terminal and paste here the output when it
crashes?
