I have no sound AT ALL with the asus F7F laptop and Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10,
kernel 2.6.22-14-generic
I have tried to fix it by adding at the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
the following line :
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-660
I have tried with 3stack, asus, 3stack-660-digout, auto ... without
