I'm running 8.04 with an Nvidia GeForce FX 5500. The bug is definitely
present with desktop effects fully enabled while using the Human theme.

my old ATI Radeon 7000 PCI card, but must admit it didn't keep up very

I also have this problem with my 7600gt. I can confirm that choosing
another theme than human or human-clearlooks fixes this (I'm currently
using clearlooks). Going by the other posts this problem only affects
Nvida GeForce 6 and 7 series. According to Wikipedia GeForce 7 is an
"upgrade" of GeForce
i have the same problem with a Geforce 6100. I've also noticed that it
only happens on the Human theme though.

Same problem here. Just installed 8.10 on machine with Geforce 7600GT.
Enabled the recommended version 177 driver and Extra desktop effects
(the 3rd option).

I can confirm that this bug is still in effect in Intrepid with the
latest updates as of this morning (Nov 7th). I'm running a 7600GT with
the proprietary drivers. The bug happens when I have Visual Effects set
to Normal and when I use my mouse to hover over the
Min/Max/Close/leftside icons in th
I'd like to confirm that this bug still exists. I'm using a nvidia 6200
on intrepid beta. Think I'm using 177.76. Happens not just on maximised
windows, and very regularly. Happy to provide more information if
someone can let me know what would be useful.

I have also observed that this problem only happens with maximized
windows; however, it seems like when I have a restored window, I
occasionally am logged off when I click minimize button
I will try running without desktop effects and see if this latest
problem continues to occur
