I have the same problem in debian 9 with optimus laptop with:

I confirm the bug exists on kernel 4.11.1 and Dell precision 5520 with
Nvidia Quadro 1200M:

Ref to your comment#2 i confirm the same error message being printed
during bootup, for latest 4.11.RC5 kernel and 4.10.7-041007-generic.
