To manage notificat
I set the 'indicator-datetime-service' package set to 'stop' in the
system monitor, which is a great temporary fix. Just right-click on the
service and you will see 'stop' in the context menu.

I completely removed my google account and it still didn't help. Is
there any way to set this service to not start at all? At this point
the only thing I have found to even make my laptop usable is 'killall
unity-panel-service'

Scrap that... I realised it was because I had the 'indicator-datetime-
service' package set to 'stop' in the system monitor (which is a great
temporary fix if anyone is having this same issue).
