I could not use Kalarm because for trusty I had this error:
Failed to access directory for --secure-file-priv. Please make sure that
directory exists and is accessible by MySQL Server. Supplied value :

Then I had another error, somethin

As an aside: Does Akonadi use MySQL's import/export operations? If not
it's recommended to set secure-file-priv to NULL (disabled) instead of
empty (unrestricted).
Support for setting it to NULL was added with this server update, so
wasn't possible before in <5.7.

Akonadi is failing because of the new secure_file_priv default location.
Since akonadi doesn't install the full mysql-server-5.5 package, but
only the mysql-server-core-5.5 package, the secure_file_priv directory
isn't created, and mysql won't start.

All supported versions of akonadi will check the timestamps of the user
and system config files and auto-update it unless the user one was
modified. So that should cover most cases.
