I was using the Ubuntu 7.10 live boot, so I hadn't created any personal files.
I couldn't see where to access preferences or a user manual, or an About dialog
that might tell me what the application was for.

The LiveCD has indexing disabled, so that's why it doesn't work.
But some kind of documentation would be nice, yes.
