Traced it down to a hardware problem. There was dirt between the key's
rubber padding and the main board. For some reason, after cleaning the
'home' key the others sprang back into life.

Confirmed the bug exists in the 4.8-rc2 kernel. There are 4 keys not
working 'F5', 'F7', 'F9' and 'Home'.
