That's fixed in hardy now, you can read an empty keyring password as
described there http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386866

Hi, I have se same bug, and its impossible to resolve it. I tried two
solutions:
- install another software to manage wifi networks (wicd), but it don't seems
to work properly (it crashes whatever I do)
- modify the configuration of gdm applets in gedit /etc/pam.d/gdm , but the
keyring manager c
The network manager applet nm-applet that you use to connect to the
wireless network stores the WEP/WPA keys with the gnome keyring manager,
which you can access in System -> Administration -> Keyring manager.
When a keyring is first created by the nm-applet, you have to supply a
password, which is

I'm the bloke who posted this bug, and it's now stopped happening, so
either an update worked, or some of my fiddling around did.
Here's what I think I did, but it's very possible that step 4 was all I
needed to do, so maybe just try that first.
One slight warning - doing this I've lost all the d
Me too. Same version, same auto-login configuration. It's extremely
annoying - what's the point of auto-login if you have to type in a
password anyway?
