I'm running hardy and my screen blinks. It blinks once some times there
are hours in between or time just a few minutes.

Having a similar problem here. After entering full-screen mode, the
viewer starts flickering after a few seconds. It flickers for between a
fraction of a second up to a couple seconds, and then works normally for
a few seconds before repeating. This only started today, after using it
for weeks.
