Oops, sorry for last message ... I was not sure that I can post here,
but I was already logged in :-)
So, I got a Mediaplay Logitech mouse (called MX1000 by linux). It's long time I
tried to make that mouse working well. But, a have always problems.

Tested on Intrepid Beta generic kernel (2.6.27-4-generic i686)
When lmpcm_usb is inserted, the LX5 mouse reports wheel tilt as XF86Back and
XF86Forward keyboard events instead of horizontal scroll - this is useless.
Removing lmpcm_usb and replugging the mouse causes it to work perfectly

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

I'm running Hardy now, and my MX1000 seems to be working properly. I
can confirm that the cruise forward/back buttons do not seem to generate
double events, at least not according to xev or btnx. I haven't tried

I did some brief testing with the Alpha 6 Live CD (the machine is
essential, so I can't do more rigorous). The lmpcm_usb module did load,
and none of the MX1000 buttons were recognized as keyboard buttons.
However, the cruise & forward/back buttons have historically been
recognized as "double" eve
Confirmed with Ubuntu 7.10 on HP TC1100 and Logitech LX5 mouse (it has
the same product ID as the MX1000 - 0xC50E), I suggest blacklisting this
by default. The fact that sometimes lmpcm_usb doesn't load introduces
even more confusion by creating unpredictable and irreproducible
behaviour.

Hi Guys,
The Hardy Heron Alpha series is currently under development and contains
an updated version of the kernel. It would be helpful if you could test
the latest Hardy Alpha release: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . You
should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can,

I can confirm this issue as well. When the module is blacklisted,
everything works fine, but if it is not, I occasionally lose the use of
all the buttons.

I can confirm this issue. Moreover, use of the lmpcm_usb driver causes
additional problems, besides causing most of the mouse buttons to be
recognized as keyboard (manifested as the mouse having a "kbd" handler
when this driver is used): the mouse is unreliable, the keyboard is
quirky, the mouse i
