Sorry to say but the bug is still there in Ubuntu 9.04. Has there been a
regression?
Imho, not being able to print should be considered a very very major
issue for any operating system.
My only workaround is the following (quite tedious as you can see).
1. open terminal.
2. type the following
closing the bug since that works correctly now

Same here (sorry, I forgot I filed this bug), since we updated the
clients to Hardy printing is working fine (server setup still the same).

I confirm the bug on my Gutsy Gibbon.
I can't print (in evinve) on a printer broadcasted by the print server
I _can_ print on the same printer if installed manually (via
"System/Administracja/Drukowanie/Nowa drukarka" - I can see my polish menu only)

Test pages, FF, OOo, all work.
Evince doesn't work, haven't tried other Gnome apps.
I am also on Ubuntu 7.10. I'm printing to a remote printer via IPP
which was setup using the gnome printing applet.
