Yes, I have booted back to 14.04.4 and this issue is gone and also fans
are calming down. I shall conduct further tests with mainline kernels in
the end of the week.

Does the issue go away of you boot back into the 3.13 kernel?
Also, would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel?
