I can confirm that beam/wings freezes for around 3-4 seconds each 10-20
seconds on ubuntu 7.10 amd64
During the freeze beam uses ~100% of CPU (single thread, so 50% of cpus
on dual core).

I'd like to confirm this bug.
I always get the "Driver compiled with incorrect version of
erl_driver.h" error, but the window still loads. When I try to create a
Cube, it generally just becomes unresponsive, although once it produced
a very similar crash dump to that of bug 155539:
