This is fixed by 1.0.4-4 version for yakkety. To backport it in xenial,
please change the description. Although I am not sure if it is suitable
for SRU.

Just noticed the same thing as well. Here's a quick and dirty workaround
for those affected:
$ cp -p /etc/php/mods-available/uuid.ini
/etc/php/7.0/mods-available/uuid.ini
$ ln -s /etc/php/7.0/mods-available/uuid.ini
/etc/php/7.0/cli/conf.d/20-uuid.ini
$ ln -s /etc/php/7.0/mods-availa
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
** Changed in: php-uuid (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed
