Can either of you get some logs, terminal output, or anything from the
crashes? I haven't seen any myself, so can't really tell what's going
on without some hints.
As a side note, newer versions of nautilus-dropbox should fix the
indicator, and if you're still having issues you can change a line
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

install.
Dropbox is provided through the nautilus-dropbox package.

I've been having the same problem with Thunar and DB for a while. Thunar
1.6.3, DB any version up to 3.12.5. I keep updating both, but the bug is
recurring with every version.

14.04 didn't release with Xfce 4.12, and thunar-dropbox-plugin wasn't
even in the archive, so you seem to have gotten them from a PPA. If the
PPA for thunar-dropbox-plugin is not the same one you got thunar from,
there may be some incompatibilities (though technically shouldn't be.)
