I confirm that putting back CONCURRENCY=none I have got back working
dbus, HAL, NetworkManager and a number of other things.

Hi,
Yes, I do have CONCURRENCY set to shell.
Just tried resetting it to none and naming the init script back to its
original name and hald starts OK. So I'd guess this is a problem that
won't affect most people so isn't a high priority. Perhaps something
worth changing for the next release but no

shell)
