Okay now I have it more specific: All works fine except setting a static
IP when you were in roaming mode before. This is default in a new Ubuntu
installation.

Okay... but I tryed this on two different computers from live CD and on fresh
installed system.
I will try this again. Is there a way to reproduce this bug? Maybe running
network-admin in debug mode or something like this - but how?

Thanks for your report, that works fine in my desktop, I've tried
setting a static IP address and a Wireless one with DHCP both worked
just fine and i didn't need to reload the networking script, not
confirming. thanks!.
