I'm afraid the log doesn't contain info about the problem.
Is the "repeat" button in the playlist on? That's the only way I can
reproduce your problem.
It seems Ubuntu always includes very old versions of SMPlayer. You can get the
latest one in this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~rvm/+archive/ubunt
The versions listed are the most current in my Lubuntu 15.10 distro.
Perhaps I can get an Ubuntu-style binary at some PPA somewhere...
I will attach a log, but it is a log from just running smplayer alone,
and I don't know if it saves stuff from previous sessions.

I can't reproduce the problem. Anyway smplayer 14.9.0 is obsolete, you
should update it.
If you had sent the smplayer log (options -> view log) I could have
checked if that problem is still present in the current version.
