I checked back with this issue and was able to succesfully install
invesalius 3.0-2 (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/invesalius/3.0-2 for details),
so I believe this issue is fixed.

I can confirm this issue and get the same error message saying
invesalius cannot be installed due to python-casmooth. I also get the
same error message attempting to install invesalius 3.0-1 on Ubuntu
Xenial.
