I'm getting this bug now, but I didn't upgrade Meld to cause this.
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 15.10
Release:15.10
$ apt-cache policy meld
meld:
Installed: 3.14.0-1
Candidate: 3.14.0-1
Version table:
*** 3.14.0-1 0
500 http://mx.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/
I installed version 3.14.2 and the issue still occurs.
