So this bug exists year later under Ubuntu 17.10 for me.
I have attached my /var/log/installer files, poorly concatenated
together. Let me know what else can be included. My knowledge of
permissions is shocking and I couldn't compress the files and upload
without them being in root permissions.

I can also see multiple user reports that grub installation for 15.10
fails. It is quite ironic how the bug exists but since it is not
reported properly ... it doesn't exist. I'll hold off installing 15.10
on my surface pro.

I'm afraid this is too vague to be a usable bug report. If grub fails
to install, the installer will prompt you to report a but with the
correct log files attached. If the install succeeds, but doers not
boot, please attach the files from /var/log/installer with a detailed
report of exactly how t
