Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
This is really hard to explain. My computer information (Xorg.confs etc. etc.) are all available in Bug #150109 The Intel driver seems to be a lot slower than i810 on the same machine, set up in the same way. When I reconfigure X to use i810, I find that everything is much faster and more responsive. A simple example is the time between when I enter my password in the login screen and press enter, until the point that the desktop displays and I can click on a menu. With Intel (average): 1:58 mins With i810 (average): 1:14 mins These were just calculated with a stopwatch. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Gutsy Beta] Intel is much slower than i810 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150114 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
