As i recall this was an issue with upstream pre-release Thunderbird-2.0.0.0 but was fixed by beta release. Does this happen only with rythmbox playing, are you using desktop effects when this occurs if so can you please turn it off and see if you can reproduce this issue with latest version of Thun
