running sony vaio fz 31 m.
sony_acpi does not work for changing brightness.
it leaves /proc/acpi/sony/ empty after modprobing...
nothing at all works to change brightness behalf a decent sunglass.

sony_acpi is now in kernel > 2.6.21. And it works !!!

Solution :
The kernel module sony_acpi is now called sony_laptop
1. list sony module
lsmod | grep sony -->
sony_laptop32088 0
sonypi 23960 0
sony_acpi ...
2. remove all sony modules :
modprobe -r sony_acpi
modprobe -r sonypi
modprobe -r sony_laptop
3. launch s
