We now know, from other bug reports, that this affects all window
managers running under recent versions of Qt.

Enable CNTRL+ALT+BCK to restart X. When Plasma crashes, use the HOTKEY.

plasma desktop crashes every time monit
I have same problem: LG TV on HDMI. Upgraded from 14.10. I did a fresh
install of kubuntu 15.04 same problem. Upgraded plasma to 5.3 no help.
If I login with GNOME or any GUI other than Plasma, power cycling TV is
fine.
