Adding Option "DRI" "off" seems to have fixed it. Let me know if I can
do anything else to help.

Try also to disable desktop effects (compiz). Maybe compiz needs to be
blacklisted on these cards.

Here are the files you requested (I had to go into restricted drivers
and turn fglrx off of course to get them). I noticed there was a new
version of the ATI driver in this mornings updates - which doesn't
appear to fix the problem.

Can you please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log from the crash (it will be
renamed to /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old when the X server starts again)? Also
.xsession-errors might be interesting.
