Same on OTA 9.1. The symbol for the voicemail mailbox is there, but it is
without function.
Regarding bug #1338970: How to define a voicemail number on the SIM card? If I
remember correctly, my other phones asked me for the number when I hit the
button the first time.

We now have OTA-9, and there is little change. On my bq Aquaris E5 with
2 SIM cards there is nothing happening on long-press of the <1> button,
except that the "1" number is cleared from the number input field. No
prompt for entering a voice mail number, no nothing.

I can confirm that this is still an issue even with OTA-8.
Any feedback on a general "quick-dial" feature for long-press on any
number key? I think this was a "normal" feature on feature phones, and
is still a feature on any Android phone I've seen. Not sure about
iPhone.

I understand that the "1" key is a special default for calling the
voicemail mailbox.

assign a contact to any button of the dialer keypad? (quick-dial)

Thanks, that feature works for some users, it seems to depends on the
SIM card to provide a voicemail number info that the system can use
though...
