My xorg.conf is currently completely out of whack due to some
complications with adding a new monitor, so I'm currently running
without an xorg.conf until I can figure out the problem. I have an ATI
FireGL video card, not nvidia, so the summary change was wrong for me.

Sorry Tormod, I can't supply either of these files, as I've made some
major changes to my system since, which has stopped this particular
problem occurring, so I haven't got copies of those when it was
happening.
For the record, I had been using my own kernel, with the Nvidia driver
installed manu
If X has restarted after the crash, /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old is probably
what we want.

I suspect this problem may be with X rather than xscreensaver.
I have just had an almost identical crash when I started Google Earth.

I am finding exactly the same problem. Everything fine until I upgraded to
Gutsy today.
