I know thunar is not installed in lubuntu. The issue was found in xubuntu
using thunar.
Now that the issue shows up in lubuntu means the problem is more that the
file manager.

In Ubuntu I get 'file cannot be moved to trash delete file' warning
Lubuntu is a bit more specific (see screenshot)
Definitely not Thunar - that's just what is showing the issue up for
Xubuntu.

Thunar is the package that is having the issue. Perhaps the work around
would be to use another file manager.
What we know, thunar can't find it. That problem starts there.

If it helps I've just tried creating a file in the latest daily image
for Kubuntu (64-bit) and using the Dolphin File Manager, the file *does*
get moved to trash.

With thunar I deleted the file ("Move to trash")
